In honor of the Euro 2020 semi-finals, let’s talk/argue about whether Spain, Italy, England, or Denmark has the best snacks. Not best food overall—best SNACKS, specifically. (Yes, you can nominate other European countries, too.)
I am sad Greece isn't in the final four, because their peanut and seasame seed bars trounce the entire competition with one hand tied behind their back. But alas...
Spain is second to Greece, though, because of turron. Not the dry, disappointing tile-grout-like stuff you can buy in tourist shops - no, the rich, crumbly, fresh, nutty variety that has so much biscuit in its DNA that your mouth is in complete confusion. Add a full broadside of pralines into it and you have a brick of pure heaven.
I'm sorry, England. I know I should be more patriotic. You're definitely a runner-up with this - https://www.tunnock.co.uk/products/caramel-wafer/ - and wine gums and jelly-babies. But you're still lagging behind the pack.
Have lived in several European countries, including the UK. Spain for sure with Italy a close second.

England has wine gums. End of discussion.
